      10,000 Reasons

Confession and Repentance (Subjective Shifting Devotion Method)

1.  Pray for the Holy Spirit to shine on you that you are able to discover your sins and be willing to repent:
“Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God and having Jesus as my Lord. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”

2.  Through the Holy Spirit, examine yourself for a short silence and then pray:
"Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sins to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Forgive my sins by your blood and help me follow you. Holy Spirit, fill me that I may be able to receive your gifts to love God and His people. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."

3.  John Stott's daily prayer of Christlikeness (Christopher J.H. Wright, Cultivating the fruit of the Spirit. Downers Grove, IL: InterVarsity Press, 2017, 13)

"Heavenly Father, I pray that this day I may live in your presence and please you more and more.
Lord Jesus, I pray that this day I may take up my cross and follow you.
Holy Spirit, I pray that this day you will fill me with yourself and cause your fruit to ripen in my life: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control."

Key passage:

Teach us to number our days,
that we may gain a heart of wisdom.
Relent, Lord! How long will it be?
    Have compassion on your servants.
Satisfy us in the morning with your unfailing love,
that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days.
Make us glad for as many days as you have afflicted us,
for as many years as we have seen trouble.

                                 Psalm 90:12-15

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through today's TWA passages we have just read. Offer this time to Jesus as you listen to Him.

The topic I received today from Jesus is:  Satisfy us in the morning with your unfailing love, that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days!

Do you want this blessing to happen to you?

I think everyone would like to! But how many can receive this blessing, especially in the darkness of this whole world?

We started to have Psalm 90 in yesterday's TWA passage and we completed Psalm 90 today. It reminds us about our limited years of life and the eternity of God. Today we start the book of Job to think deeply on the meaning of sufferings, and how can we be satisfied in the morning with God's unfailing love in the midst of sufferings?

My catch today from Jesus is wonderful! What we need are two steps:

     1. The first step is actually in the first verse of Psalm 90  "Lord, you have been our dwelling place". If we understand God is actually our dwelling place and not dwell in the shadow of sufferings, the fear of death, then even life is short and suffering might come without warning, we can get through those darkness and will be well!

     2. The second step is Psalm 90:14 "Satisfy us in the morning with your unfailing love". If we are willing to be close to Abba Father every morning to enjoy and be satisfied with God's presence and the embrace of His unfailing love, no breakfast is better than that!

If you can walk these two steps each day, I am sure that you can experience "Satisfy us in the morning with your unfailing love, that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days!"

     Dear Holy Spirit,
Help us to be willing to walk these two steps each day that we can joyfully experience your presence and your unfailing loveIn Jesus Name we pray, Amen.

Reflect on these questions:

1. What inspiration have you received from today's catch and what have you heard from Jesus now?

     2.  What is your next step to be more closer to Jesus, to be holy - that is to do what Jesus wants you to do and not to do what Jesus wants you not to do?
