      10,000 Reasons

     Confession and Repentance (Subjective Shifting Devotion Method)

1.  Pray for the Holy Spirit to shine on you that you are able to discover your sins and be willing to repent:
     “Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God and having Jesus as my Lord. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”

2.  Through the Holy Spirit, examine yourself for a short silence and then pray:
     "Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sins to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Forgive my sins by your blood and help me follow you. Holy Spirit, fill me that I may be able to receive your gifts to love God and His people. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."

3.  John Stott's daily prayer of Christlikeness (Christopher J.H. Wright, Cultivating the fruit of the Spirit. Downers Grove, IL: InterVarsity Press, 2017, 13)

           "Heavenly Father, I pray that this day I may live in your presence and please you more and more.
             Lord Jesus, I pray that this day I may take up my cross and follow you.
             Holy Spirit, I pray that this day you will fill me with yourself and cause your fruit to ripen in my life: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control."

Key passages:

 I will sing a new song to you, my God;

    on the ten-stringed lyre I will make music to you,
    to the One who gives victory to kings,

    who delivers his servant David.

From the deadly sword  deliver me;
    rescue me from the hands of foreigners
whose mouths are full of lies,
    whose right hands are deceitful.
Then our sons in their youth
    will be like well-nurtured plants,
and our daughters will be like pillars
    carved to adorn a palace.
Our barns will be filled
    with every kind of provision.
Our sheep will increase by thousands,
    by tens of thousands in our fields;
our oxen will draw heavy loads.
There will be no breaching of walls,
    no going into captivity,
    no cry of distress in our streets.
Blessed is the people of whom this is true;
    blessed is the people whose God is the Lord.

                    Psalm 144:9-15

 During Jehoiakim’s reign, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon invaded the land, and Jehoiakim became his vassal for three years. But then he turned against Nebuchadnezzar and rebelled. The Lord sent Babylonian, Aramean, Moabite and Ammonite raiders against him. He sent them to destroy Judah, in accordance with the word of the Lord proclaimed by his servants the prophets. Surely these things happened to Judah according to the Lord's command, in order to remove them from his presence because of the sins of Manasseh and all he had done, including the shedding of innocent blood. For he had filled Jerusalem with innocent blood and the Lord was not willing to forgive.
2 Kings 24: 1-4

So Judah went into captivity, away from her land.          2 Kings 25: 21

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through today's TWA passages we have just read. Offer this time to Jesus as you listen to Him.

The topic I received today from Jesus is: Sing new song to God, be blessed and in victory!

    Yesterday's Psalm 144:1-2 reminds us since the ancient time the world has been in lots of battle, only God can teach us how to fight this battle which we as human is doom to fail. Only in God's guidance and direction can we win this spiritual warfare!

      Today's passage is the second part. It teaches us that in the midst of warfare we need to sing new song to God with instruments. When we are willing to do so, God will protect us and bless our family and inheritance!

      Today's 2 Kings 24 and 25 are two horrible chapters recording the fall of Jerusalem!

Powerful people of God became powerless captive of Babylon! How sad!

"God was not willing to forgive"? Do you believe that?
You better believe this before you misuse His mercy as an excuse to sin!

No one knows God's bottom line, but when we know, it might be too late!

Jesus reminds me of John 15: 5 - 8:
Jesus says, "I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him. he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. If anyone does not remain in me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you. This is to my Father's glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples."

    May you understand through yesterday and today's passages  that no matter in real war or spiritual warfare, when we continue on our fervent prayers, scribing the Bible and to praise God, God will protect us and bless our family and inheritance!

     Dear Lord Jesus,

     Help us  to obey your command to fight this spiritual warfare that we are willing to pray continuously, scribing God's Word, praising God, then we will be in God's protection and blessingsIn Jesus Name we pray, Amen.

Reflect on these questions:

1. What inspiration have you received from today's catch and what have you heard from Jesus now?

     2.  What is your next step to be more closer to Jesus, to be holy - that is to do what Jesus wants you to do and not to do what Jesus wants you not to do?
