      10,000 Reasons

Confession and Repentance (Subjective Shifting Devotion Method)

1.  Pray for the Holy Spirit to shine on you that you are able to discover your sins and be willing to repent:
“Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God and having Jesus as my Lord. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”

2.  Through the Holy Spirit, examine yourself for a short silence and then pray:
"Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sins to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Forgive my sins by your blood and help me follow you. Holy Spirit, fill me that I may be able to receive your gifts to love God and His people. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."

3.  John Stott's daily prayer of Christlikeness (Christopher J.H. Wright, Cultivating the fruit of the Spirit. Downers Grove, IL: InterVarsity Press, 2017, 13)

"Heavenly Father, I pray that this day I may live in your presence and please you more and more.
Lord Jesus, I pray that this day I may take up my cross and follow you.
Holy Spirit, I pray that this day you will fill me with yourself and cause your fruit to ripen in my life: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control."

Key passage:

Praise be to the Lord my Rock,

who trains my hands for war,
    my fingers for battle.
He is my loving God and my fortress,
    my stronghold and my deliverer,
my shield, in whom I take refuge,
    who subdues peoples under me.

                        Psalm 144:1-2

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through today's TWA passages we have just read. Offer this time to Jesus as you listen to Him.

The topic I received today from Jesus is: God trains my hands for war, my fingers for battle!

Do you know the whole world is in battle now?
COVID 19 was actually a big battle six years ago!
And, the battle in Middle East and Europe!

Do you think if there is someone who does not know there is a battle but he is actually in the battle field? Impossible!

Today's Psalm 144:1-2 reminds us since the ancient time the world has been in lots of battle, only God can teach us how to fight this battle which we as human is doom to fail. Only in God's guidance and direction can we win this spiritual warfare!

Only our willingness to be in God's love can we be able to enter into the fortress, the stronghold and shield prepared by God so that we can be secure!

Do you know we are at war, spiritual warfare?

Do you know how to let God to teach you how to battle?

To me, God trains my hands for war are the hands of praying!
God changed me 16 years ago in July 2009 to be a man of prayer and also uses me to raise up numerous people of prayer to lift up our hands to pray to God daily through my daily blogs and videos!

God trains my fingers for battle are my fingers to scribe the Bible!
God changed me 11 years ago in July 2015 to be a man who spends time to scribe the Bible frequently and also uses me to raise up numerous people to spend time to scribe the Bible so as to receive the power, guidance and command of God through the Bible!

To you, what does it mean for God to train your hands for war and your fingers to battle?

Do you know how to be in God's love that you are able to enter into the fortress, stronghold and shield prepared by God so that you can be secure?

Those fortress, stronghold and shield should be your church and the spiritual tactics, spiritual weapons, bullets you receive from the Lord. Have you got that?

      Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us  to obey your command to teach us how to use our hands to pray and our fingers to copy the Bible so that we can join in your army to fight a good fight in this spiritual battleIn Jesus Name we pray, Amen.

Reflect on these questions:

1. What inspiration have you received from today's catch and what have you heard from Jesus now?

     2.  What is your next step to be more closer to Jesus, to be holy - that is to do what Jesus wants you to do and not to do what Jesus wants you not to do?
