      10,000 Reasons

Confession and Repentance (Subjective Shifting Devotion Method)

1.  Pray for the Holy Spirit to shine on you that you are able to discover your sins and be willing to repent:
“Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God and having Jesus as my Lord. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”

2.  Through the Holy Spirit, examine yourself for a short silence and then pray:
"Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sins to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Forgive my sins by your blood and help me follow you. Holy Spirit, fill me that I may be able to receive your gifts to love God and His people. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."

3.  John Stott's daily prayer of Christlikeness (Christopher J.H. Wright, Cultivating the fruit of the Spirit. Downers Grove, IL: InterVarsity Press, 2017, 13)

"Heavenly Father, I pray that this day I may live in your presence and please you more and more.
Lord Jesus, I pray that this day I may take up my cross and follow you.
Holy Spirit, I pray that this day you will fill me with yourself and cause your fruit to ripen in my life: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control."

Key passages:

     Trust in him at all time, you people;
pour out your hearts to him,
for God is our refuge.                             Psalm 62:8

One thing God has spoken,
  two things I have heard:
"Power belongs to you, God."                Psalm 62:11

Yet to all who did receive him,
to those who believed in his name,
he gave the right to become children of God.      John 1:12

The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us.
   We have seen his glory,
the glory of the one and only Son,
who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:14

No one has ever seen God,
but the one and only Son, who is himself God and is closest relationship
with the Father, has made him known.                    John 1:18

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through today's TWA passages we have just read. Offer this time to Jesus as you listen to Him.

The topic I received today from Jesus is: How to exercise the right of being the children of God?

I have read chapter one of the Gospel of John numerous times, but today the Lord helped me to focus on only one word "the right"(John 1:12). Usually when we say the word "the right" we follow another word "duty".

Yes, that's what I received today:
1. We have the right to become children of God
    a. We can be in "the closest relationship with the Father"(John 1:18) to "pour out our hearts to him".(Psalm 62:8)
    b. We have "the right" to exercise the "power"(Psalm 62:11) of being God's children.
    c. When we are in trouble we can run to God for He is our "refuge"(Psalm 62:8) that we can be in this protection

2. We have the duty for being children of God
Our duty is to let other people to see Jesus is in our lives and that we can "make him known", let people to see His "glory". (John 1:18, 14)

May you be able to exercise the right of being God's children, to live out the duty of being God's children so that you can enter into His protection, guidance and blessing!

      Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to be able to exercise the right of being God's children, to live out the duty of being God's children so that we can enter into His protection, guidance and blessing.  In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

Reflect on these questions:

1. What inspiration have you received from today's catch and what have you heard from Jesus now?

     2.  What is your next step to be more closer to Jesus, to be holy - that is to do what Jesus wants you to do and not to do what Jesus wants you not to do?
