Prayer of Jabez!!!

1.  Pray for the Holy Spirit to shine on you that you are able to discover your sins and be willing to repent:

     “Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God and having Jesus as my Lord. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”

2.  Through the Holy Spirit, examine yourself for a short silence and then pray:

     "Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sins to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Forgive my sins by your blood and help me follow you. Holy Spirit, fill me that I may be able to receive your gifts to love God and His people. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."

Key passage: 

Jabez was more honorable than his brothers. His mother had named him Jabez,[a] saying, “I gave birth to him in pain.” Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, "Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain."                                                                          1 Chronicles 4: 9-10                                                                                                                                       

       Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage we have just read. Offer this time to Jesus as you listen to Him.    

The topic I received today from Jesus is:  Prayer of Jabez!!!

After you count how many names there are in this chapter, then you will know how important Jabez and his prayer is. I counted and there are 148 names. Out of 148 names, only one name, Jabez, has a clear record.

What I received from Jesus today are:

1. The role of a mother: I have heard so many painful stories of how a mother poured down bad and negative words, discouragements, curses and physical abuse to their children. Jabez was one of those many victims! His mother named him Jabez in order to remember how painful Jabez brought to her when giving birth to him. If you are a mother, could you not step into the same trap as Jabez' mother causing pain to your children?

2. We need to ask for God's blessing: Yes, we really need to ask for God's blessing daily because we face all kinds of curses all day long and we need His blessing to pull us out from those darkness.

3. We need to ask God to enlarge our territory: Someone think that this is called "greed". I don't think so. If you are a good disciple of Christ, then once your territory enlarges, then your influence will enlarge and God's name will be glorified!

4. We need to ask for God's hand of His daily presence and protection : We need to pray like that so that we are protected by God's mighty hand and that we would not be in pain and we would not cause pain!

I sincerely hope and pray that you can use Prayer of Jabez to pray at least three time every week. After a month, you will know how powerful this prayer truly is!

Now, let's use Prayer of Jabez to pray:

Dear Abba Father,

"Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain." In Jesus name we pray . Amen.

Reflect on these questions:    

1. What inspiration have you received from today's catch and what have you heard from Jesus now?

     2.  What is your next step to be more closer to Jesus, to be holy - that is to do what Jesus wants you to do and not to do what Jesus wants you not to do?
