Key passages:
"Keep my commands and follow them. I am the Lord. Do not profane my holy name. I must be acknowledged as holy by the Israelites. I am the Lord, who makes you holy and who brought you out of Egypt to be your God. I am the Lord." Leviticus 22: 31-33
“The tenth day of this seventh month is the Day of Atonement. Hold a sacred assembly and deny yourselves,[e] and present a food offering to the Lord. Do not do any work on that day, because it is the Day of Atonement, when atonement is made for you before the Lord your God. Those who do not deny themselves on that day must be cut off from their people. I will destroy from among their people anyone who does any work on that day. You shall do no work at all. This is to be a lasting ordinance for the generations to come, wherever you live. It is a day of sabbath rest for you, and you must deny yourselves. From the evening of the ninth day of the month until the following evening you are to observe your sabbath.” Leviticus 23: 27-32
"Observe the Sabbath, because it is holy to you. Anyone who desecrates it must be put to death; whoever does any work on that day must be cut off from his people." Exodus 31: 14
In vain you rise early and stay up late,
toiling for food to eat - for he grants sleep to those he loves. Psalm 127: 2
Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passages we have just read. Offer this time to Jesus as you listen to Him.
The topic I received today from Jesus is: I am the Lord!
God created man in his own image and blessed them to rule over every living creature that moves on the ground(Genesis 1: 27-28). But instead of ruling every living creature, human beings choose to rule and lording each others saying, "I am the Lord."
To give back the Lordship to God was such a difficult 'listen and obey' exercise to all Israelites, especially to all priests as in this chapter today. God has both a high standard and punishment to priests. God said this is holy, and that they had to follow exactly what God told them. How blessed, gifted and powerful it could be if all the people in a church understand that Jesus is Lord and would be willing to submit to His Lordship!
Right after the command to the Israelites to submit to God's Lordship, to worship Him as the Lord, He showed them what did that mean. Until now, after thousands of years, the Israelites still observing the Sabbath.
Actually Sabbath not only tells us the importance of giving one day of a week to worship God, it also tells us the importance of REST! There are more and more sleeping clinics in North America. More and more people can not sleep well or cannot sleep at all sometimes. Lots of people are taking sleeping pills, and if they do not take the pills, they cannot sleep!
Do we know the importance of not working and resting in the Lord! If not, we may sooner or later go to a sleeping clinic seeking for solution, and that might be a dead end!
God promises us that all those He loves can have good sleep! You need to pray and claim His promise!
Dear Lord Jesus,
You are my Lord, my King and my Savior. Come and lead me to worship you and to rest in you as you command us. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
Reflect on these questions:
1. What inspiration have you received from today's catch and what have you heard from Jesus now?
2. What is your next step to be more closer to Jesus, to be holy - that is to do what Jesus wants you to do and not to do what Jesus wants you not to do? If you would like to follow my "Subject shifting Devotion Method" from the "Time with Abba, Praising Singing", you are welcome to follow the direction below and then go back to the top of this blog to read today's key passage and my listening and sharing:
Silence1. Put on your “brakes” and stop for a moment of silence 2. Wait for God. Breathe deep for God's peace and feel His presence. Exhale your worries.
Praise and Thanksgiving1. Think through your day, all the times that made you smile 2. Thank God for all those moments, and for all those people3. Sing a song to praise the Lord Confession and Repentance (Subjective Shifting Devotion Method)
1. Pray for the Holy Spirit to shine on you that you are able to discover your sins and be willing to repent:
“Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God and having Jesus as my Lord. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”
2. Through the Holy Spirit, examine yourself for a short silence and then pray:
"Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sins to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Forgive my sins by your blood and help me follow you. Holy Spirit, fill me that I may be able to receive your gifts to love God and His people. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."

"Heavenly Father, I pray that this day I may live in your presence and please you more and more.
Lord Jesus, I pray that this day I may take up my cross and follow you.
Holy Spirit, I pray that this day you will fill me with yourself and cause your fruit to ripen in my life: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control."
