Key passage:
33-35 Jesus responded, “Who do you think are my mother and brothers?” Looking around, taking in everyone seated around him, he said, “Right here, right in front of you—my mother and my brothers. Obedience is thicker than blood. The person who obeys God’s will is my brother and sister and mother.”
The topic I received today from Jesus is: Obedience bears fruit, much fruit!
See how Moses obeyed and that's how God used him to make people and things Holy. Holiness comes from obedience to what God says. That's how Jesus told people around Him that "Obedience is thicker than blood. The person who obeys God's will is my brother and sister and mother." A wonderful translation of Professor Eugene Peterson's The Message!
If we really are willing to listen to God's Word, obey His daily command and we will surely bear fruit, much fruit!
If you think you are obedience, are you bearing much fruit?
Reflect on these questions:
1. What inspiration have you received from today's catch and what have you heard from Jesus now?
2. What is your next step to be more closer to Jesus, to be holy - that is to do what Jesus wants you to do and not to do what Jesus wants you not to do? Family Corner: Find an opportunity to share with your family the importance of today's message.
