Silence

1.   Put on your “brakes” and stop for a moment of silence
      2.   Wait for God. Breathe deep for God's peace and feel His presence. Exhale your worries.

     Praise and Thanksgiving
1.   Think through your day, all the times that made you smile.
2.   Thank God for all those moments, and for all those people

Confession and Repentance (Subjective Shifting Devotion Method)

1.  Pray for the Holy Spirit to shine on you that you are able to discover your sins and be willing to repent:
“Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God and having Jesus as my Lord. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”

2.  Through the Holy Spirit, examine yourself for a short silence and then pray:
"Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sins to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Forgive my sins by your blood and help me follow you. Holy Spirit, fill me that I may be able to receive your gifts to love God and His people. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."

3.  John Stott's daily prayer of Christlikeness (Christopher J.H. Wright, Cultivating the fruit of the Spirit. Downers Grove, IL: InterVarsity Press, 2017, 13)

"Heavenly Father, I pray that this day I may live in your presence and please you more and more.
Lord Jesus, I pray that this day I may take up my cross and follow you.
Holy Spirit, I pray that this day you will fill me with yourself and cause your fruit to ripen in my life: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control."

Key passage:

“And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.

“This, then, is how you should pray:

“‘Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
10 your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
11 Give us today our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation,[a]
but deliver us from the evil one.[b]

14 For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.

                                                                                  Matthew 6:5-15

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through today's passage we have just read. Offer this time to Jesus as you listen to Him.

The topic I received today from Jesus is:  Can I forgive?

There are lots of times when the wounds of being hurt, misunderstood, judged and betrayed are so deep that I could not pull myself out and fell into a complete darkness.

The Lord always uses Matthew 6:14-15

"For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins" these two verses

to reminds me of what I should do. If I don’t do it, I will be pulled into darkness and never see light. I need to forgive even if I can’t forgive. I always need Jesus to help me to forgive!

You know that today's Matthew 6:9-13 is the Lord's Prayer. The classic model of true prayer Jesus taught. A template and model of prayer for us to pray and that our Heavenly Father will listen. See how Jesus added that line in verses 14-15. What I just received from Jesus is that if we cannot forgive, then no matter how we pray, God is not going to listen!!!

Only if you can repent of your sins of not forgiving, to repent of allowing "the spirit of unforgiving" to take charge of your life and to ask the blood of Jesus Christ to cleanse and forgive your sins. Then:
       YOU ARE FREE!!!

“But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.”Matthew 6:15

That's how it says in today's Psalm 5:4-12 that God is not please with wickedness and hate all who do wrong. Only God can declare those people guilty, not you. Do not be an accuser!

That's how it says in today's Genesis 16:1-18:19 of how Abram became Abraham because of his faith. Let's trust our Lord totally to let Him free us for all kind of unforgiving inside us.

That's how today's Proverbs 2:1-5 tells us to accept God's words and store up His commands within you.

Do you know what is God's command to you today?

Dear Lord Jesus,
Help me to be able to forgive so that I can move forward with you daily. In Jesus Name I pray. Amen.

Reflect on these questions:

1. What inspiration have you received from today's catch and what have you heard from Jesus now?

     2.  What is your next step to be more closer to Jesus, to be holy - that is to do what Jesus wants you to do and not to do what Jesus wants you not to do?
