Silence

1.   Put on your “brakes” and stop for a moment of silence
      2.   Wait for God. Breathe deep for God's peace and feel His presence. Exhale your worries.

     Praise and Thanksgiving
1.   Think through your day, all the times that made you smile.
2.   Thank God for all those moments, and for all those people
3.          **Sing a song to praise the Lord

Confession and Repentance (Subjective Shifting Devotion Method)

1.  Pray for the Holy Spirit to shine on you that you are able to discover your sins and be willing to repent:
“Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God and having Jesus as my Lord. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”

2.  Through the Holy Spirit, examine yourself for a short silence and then pray:
"Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sins to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Forgive my sins by your blood and help me follow you. Holy Spirit, fill me that I may be able to receive your gifts to love God and His people. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."

3.  John Stott's daily prayer of Christlikeness (Christopher J.H. Wright, Cultivating the fruit of the Spirit. Downers Grove, IL: InterVarsity Press, 2017, 13)

"Heavenly Father, I pray that this day I may live in your presence and please you more and more.
Lord Jesus, I pray that this day I may take up my cross and follow you.
Holy Spirit, I pray that this day you will fill me with yourself and cause your fruit to ripen in my life: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control."

Key passage:

“At that time Michael, the great prince who protects your people, will arise. There will be a time of distress such as has not happened from the beginning of nations until then. But at that time your people—everyone whose name is found written in the book—will be delivered. Multitudes who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake: some to everlasting life, others to shame and everlasting contempt. Those who are wise[d] will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever. But you, Daniel, roll up and seal the words of the scroll until the time of the end. Many will go here and there to increase knowledge.”

He replied, “Go your way, Daniel, because the words are rolled up and sealed until the time of the end. 10 Many will be purified, made spotless and refined, but the wicked will continue to be wicked. None of the wicked will understand, but those who are wise will understand.

11 “From the time that the daily sacrifice is abolished and the abomination that causes desolation is set up, there will be 1,290 days. 12 Blessed is the one who waits for and reaches the end of the 1,335 days.

13 “As for you, go your way till the end. You will rest, and then at the end of the days you will rise to receive your allotted inheritance.”

                                                                  Daniel 12:1-4, 9-13

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage we have just read. Offer this time to Jesus as you listen to Him.

The topic I received today from Jesus is:  Purified and refined so as to understand!

The last chapter of Daniel gives a prophecy that in the end time there will be a time of extreme trouble for Israel, fulfilling Jeremiah 30: 7:

How awful that day will be!
None will be like it.
It will be a time of trouble for Jacob,
but he will be saved out of it.

God's purpose is to rescue those whose names are written "in the book" - the book of life according to Philippians 4:3; Rev 3:5; 21:27. Among those will be the Jews who accepted Jesus as their Messiah and their Lord.

Verse 2 is the clearest Old Testament reference to the resurrection of both the righteous and the wicked. There are two destinies for all people. It's either eternal life or eternal punishment.

It is revealed to Daniel that during the end time, those who trust Christ will be spiritually purified, refined and strengthened through times of extreme difficulty and testing. As a result, they will be the wise ones who comprehend what is going on. During the great tribulation, there will be a period of 1,290 days, corresponding to the last three and one-half years of the tribulation period, plus 45 days. There will be a special blessing on those who come through the 1,335 days. This will be a time between the battle of Armageddon and the full establishment of the millennial kingdom of Christ's thousand-year reign of peace on earth at the end of history according to Revelation 20.

What I received from Jesus today is that we do not have a way to understand all those visions and dates. But, what we need is to enter into the process to be purified and refined as soon as possible, so that we can understand what God wants us to understand.

If we are so "blessed" to be still alive in the time of the great tribulation, then the number of dates will be very important to us. Because we can count the days and in 3 1/2 years time every persecution will be over and Jesus will come back!

Be prepared because that day may come any time!
Are you ready?

Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to be willing to enter into the process to be purified and refined so that we can understand what you want us to understand and that we can stand firm in all difficult situations.  In Jesus Name I pray. Amen.

Reflect on these questions:

1. What inspiration have you received from today's catch and what have you heard from Jesus now?

     2.  What is your next step to be more closer to Jesus, to be holy - that is to do what Jesus wants you to do and not to do what Jesus wants you not to do?
