Silence

1.   Put on your “brakes” and stop for a moment of silence
      2.   Wait for God. Breathe deep for God's peace and feel His presence. Exhale your worries.

     Praise and Thanksgiving
1.   Think through your day, all the times that made you smile.
2.   Thank God for all those moments, and for all those people
3.          **Sing a song to praise the Lord

Confession and Repentance (Subjective Shifting Devotion Method)

1.  Pray for the Holy Spirit to shine on you that you are able to discover your sins and be willing to repent:
“Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God and having Jesus as my Lord. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”

2.  Through the Holy Spirit, examine yourself for a short silence and then pray:
"Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sins to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Forgive my sins by your blood and help me follow you. Holy Spirit, fill me that I may be able to receive your gifts to love God and His people. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."

3.  John Stott's daily prayer of Christlikeness (Christopher J.H. Wright, Cultivating the fruit of the Spirit. Downers Grove, IL: InterVarsity Press, 2017, 13)

"Heavenly Father, I pray that this day I may live in your presence and please you more and more.
Lord Jesus, I pray that this day I may take up my cross and follow you.
Holy Spirit, I pray that this day you will fill me with yourself and cause your fruit to ripen in my life: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control."

Key passage:

In the first year of Belshazzar king of Babylon, Daniel had a dream, and visions passed through his mind as he was lying in bed. He wrote down the substance of his dream.

Daniel said: “In my vision at night I looked, and there before me were the four winds of heaven churning up the great sea. Four great beasts, each different from the others, came up out of the sea.

“The first was like a lion, and it had the wings of an eagle. I watched until its wings were torn off and it was lifted from the ground so that it stood on two feet like a human being, and the mind of a human was given to it.

“And there before me was a second beast, which looked like a bear. It was raised up on one of its sides, and it had three ribs in its mouth between its teeth. It was told, ‘Get up and eat your fill of flesh!’

“After that, I looked, and there before me was another beast, one that looked like a leopard. And on its back it had four wings like those of a bird. This beast had four heads, and it was given authority to rule.

“After that, in my vision at night I looked, and there before me was a fourth beast—terrifying and frightening and very powerful. It had large ironteeth; it crushed and devoured its victims and trampled underfoot whatever was left. It was different from all the former beasts, and it had ten horns.

“While I was thinking about the horns, there before me was another horn, a little one, which came up among them; and three of the first horns were uprooted before it. This horn had eyes like the eyes of a human being and a mouth that spoke boastfully.

“As I looked,

“thrones were set in place,
and the Ancient of Days took his seat.
His clothing was as white as snow;
the hair of his head was white like wool.
His throne was flaming with fire,
and its wheels were all ablaze.
10 A river of fire was flowing,
    coming out from before him.
Thousands upon thousands attended him;
ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him.
The court was seated,
    and the books were opened.

11 “Then I continued to watch because of the boastful words the horn was speaking. I kept looking until the beast was slain and its body destroyed and thrown into the blazing fire. 12 (The other beasts had been stripped of their authority, but were allowed to live for a period of time.)

13 “In my vision at night I looked, and there before me was one like a son of man,[a] coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and was led into his presence. 14 He was given authority, glory and sovereign power; all nations and peoples of every language worshiped him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and his kingdom is one that will never be destroyed.

The Interpretation of the Dream

15 “I, Daniel, was troubled in spirit, and the visions that passed through my mind disturbed me. 16 I approached one of those standing there and asked him the meaning of all this.

“So he told me and gave me the interpretation of these things:

                                                                  Daniel 7:1-16

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage we have just read. Offer this time to Jesus as you listen to Him.

The topic I received today from Jesus is:  Relax, enjoy your time!

It is so difficult to understand this chapter. God revealed the whole human future to Daniel in a very powerful way.

Some modern commentators view the four beasts as representing nations in the end times. Most Bible scholars regard this vision as a parallel to Nebuchadnezzar's dream in chapter 2 in a deeper way to reveal the inner characteristics of the kingdoms.

The lion, a symbol of royal power, represents the Neo-Babylonian Empire.

The eagle, the king of birds, may represent King Nebuchadnezzar's power, and the tearing off the wings would represent what happened in chapter 5 when God humbled the king.

The bear raised up on one side represents Medo-Persia, with Persia being dominant. The three ribs in its mouth may represent its conquests of Babylon, Lydia and Egypt.

The leopard, a powerful and swift animal, with its four wings, represents the Greek Empire and Alexander the Great's rapid conquests.

The four heads are the four kingdoms that came out of his empire when he died, as it was divided among his four generals.

The fourth beast was frightening and more powerful than the rest, with iron teeth. This represents Rome, as does the rest of the image. The ten horns correspond with the ten toes of 2: 41-42.

Then the little horn symbolizes the last major ruler in the world - the antichrist (1 Jn 2:18), the man of lawlessness (2 Th 2:3,8), the beast who overpowers three of the ten kings (vv. 11, 24; Rev 13:7, 19: 19-20). He will wage war against God's people, capture them (vv. 21-22, 25) and speak against God. But when Jesus Christ returns to earth (v.9), his followers will possess the kingdom (vv. 22, 27; Rev 11:15-18;20:4-6). At that time the antichrist and his forces will be destroyed(vv. 11,26), and he will be thrown into the fiery lake where he will suffer for eternity (Rev. 19:20).

Today when I read this very difficult chapter, I was in a quite worry mood seeing all those things happened in the history of mankind and those not yet to come.

Then Jesus said to me, "Relax, the time is in my hand. Enjoy your time!"

Thank you Lord!
Yes, we as human beings cannot alter what God has already planned. But, what God wants us to do each day is to relax and enjoy the time we have on earth being with Him and doing His work!

Relax, enjoy your time!

Dear Lord Jesus,
Thank you for your wonderful word to release all my anxiety to my unknown future. Lead us into your love that we understand and experience that you control the time and in your time everything will be well.  In Jesus Name I pray. Amen.

Reflect on these questions:

1. What inspiration have you received from today's catch and what have you heard from Jesus now?

     2.  What is your next step to be more closer to Jesus, to be holy - that is to do what Jesus wants you to do and not to do what Jesus wants you not to do?
