Confession and Repentance (Subjective Shifting Devotion Method)
1. Pray for the Holy Spirit to shine on you that you are able to discover your sins and be willing to repent:
“Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God and having Jesus as my Lord. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”
2. Through the Holy Spirit, examine yourself for a short silence and then pray:
"Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sins to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). The topic I received today from Jesus is: Let Jesus reign in you!
Jeremiah 19 gives us two different pictures: One picture is how corrupted and sinful were Judah's spiritual leaders, the priests and the false prophets, who were selfishly enriching themselves while not faring at all about the people's condition. How horrible and shameful they were and how they would be totally destroyed.
The other picture is that God will raise up another king from David's family line who would be a righteous Branch. This King would do what was right and fulfill God's purpose. This prophecy points to the Messiah, Jesus Christ.
What branch do you think you belongs to? Any proof from your lifestyle that you are on Jesus' branch?
Today Jesus reminds me again of a hanging Bishop TJ gave me on the day of my Installation as a bishop in September 2009. For the past 16 years I got the message wrong! I think what TJ means is that I will be raised up as a leader of the new branch to extend God's Kingdom. In fact I am, but I miss out the most important thing. This passage is not talking about any human beings, not me, but Jesus. Only if we let Jesus reign in us then we will be part of this branch to prevail!
Only if I let Jesus reign in me that I can be raised up as a leader under His command to extend His mighty Kingdom.
I am willing! How about you?
Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to be willing to let you reign in us. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.
