1.  Pray for the Holy Spirit to shine on you that you are able to discover your sins and be willing to repent:

     “Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God and having Jesus as my Lord. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”

2.  Through the Holy Spirit, examine yourself for a short silence and then pray:

     "Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sins to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Forgive my sins by your blood and help me follow you. Holy Spirit, fill me that I may be able to receive your gifts to love God and His people. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."

This is what the Lord says:

“Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool.

Where is the house you will build for me? 

Where will my resting place be?

 Has not my hand made all these things, and so they came into being?”

  declares the Lord.

 “These are the ones I look on with favor:

   

     those who are humble and contrite in spirit,

                       

     and who tremble at my word.  

Isaiah 66:1-2

                     

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage we have just read. Offer this time to Jesus as you listen to Him.

    

The topic I received today from Jesus is:  Are you the one God looks on with favor?

Isaiah Chapter 66 is like a firework high up on the sky to conclude the whole book of Isaiah: 

Isaiah prophesies the rebirth of Israel as God's faithful people during Christ's earthy reign of a thousand years at the end of history (vv. 7-14, Revelation 20). 

Jerusalem is compared to a mother who feeds and comforts her children and will have peace and be a comfort to all who love God, including those who come to her from all nations (vv. 10-14). 

God's judgement will be on His enemies that the antichrist's forces will be destroyed at the battle of Armageddon and Christ will begin His millennial reign of peace on earth(vv. 15-17, Revelation 20). 

God will gather Christ's followers to witness His glory and they will be sent throughout the world to bring all remaining Jews to the Lord (vv. 18-21). 

Then, at the end of history, following Christ's millennial reign on earth and the final judgments, God will create the new heavens and the new earth and all of God's people will be with the Lord forever(vv. 22-24, Revelation 21-22). 

God through Isaiah gives to all the Israelites and everyone a clear message that God is in total control. 

St. Stephen used Isaiah 66:1 giving a strong message to those who rejected the Holy Spirit and he was stoned to death after that as recorded in Acts 7:49.

So, the most important thing for them and for us to do is the message of verse 2 that God looks in favor only in those who are humble, who has a contrite heart and recognizes the need for God's constant help and grace and who try to follow His Word.

Are you that kind of person?

Dear Lord Jesus,

Help us to be humble and contrite in spirit that we can enjoy your presence each day and you look on us with favor. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

1. What inspiration have you received from today's catch and what have you heard from Jesus now?

     2.  What is your next step to be more closer to Jesus, to be holy - that is to do what Jesus wants you to do and not to do what Jesus wants you not to do?
