Silence

1.  Pray for the Holy Spirit to shine on you that you are able to discover your sins and be willing to repent:

     “Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God and having Jesus as my Lord. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”

2.  Through the Holy Spirit, examine yourself for a short silence and then pray:

     "Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sins to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Forgive my sins by your blood and help me follow you. Holy Spirit, fill me that I may be able to receive your gifts to love God and His people. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."

The Lord, the Lord Almighty, called you on that day to weep and to wail,

to tear out your hair and put on sackcloth.

But see, there is joy and revelry,

slaughtering of cattle and killing of sheep,

eating of meat and drinking of wine!

"Let us eat and drink," you say,

"for tomorrow we die!"

Isaiah 22: 12-13

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage we have just read. Offer this time to Jesus as you listen to Him.

    

The topic I received today from Jesus is:  The consequence of our worldly behaviour!

Following yesterday's reading of the excessive luxuries Babylonian lifestyle, Isaiah 22 turns from the destruction of foreign nations to a spiritually rebellious Jerusalem. This chapter turns on how God's people were stepping into the same kind of "dirt"! 

The consequence would be total destruction! 

God, through Isaiah, warned the people of Jerusalem for rejecting his personal revelation and for their rebellious attitude in the face of great danger. (vv. 1-14) 

Though the people were destroying themselves, some even celebrated their ungodly way of life (vv. 12-13). 

Isaiah grieved for the people and for God whom they betrayed. When God's people imitate and compromise with the world by accepting and practicing ungodly behaviors, God always gives them opportunity to admit their sins and to depend once again on Him. He always waits for us to cry out humbly to Him for mercy and help!

Let me have three questions for you: 

1. Have you stepped into the similar kind of "dirt" of a worldly lifestyle?

2. What kind of lifestyle are you having lately? 

3. What have you heard from Jesus today?

Dear Lord Jesus,

Help us to understand the consequence of a worldly behaviour is total destruction and we need to turn to you for salvation. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

Reflect on these questions:    

1. What inspiration have you received from today's catch and what have you heard from Jesus now?

     2.  What is your next step to be more closer to Jesus, to be holy - that is to do what Jesus wants you to do and not to do what Jesus wants you not to do?
