     Confession and Repentance (Subjective Shifting Devotion Method)

1.  Pray for the Holy Spirit to shine on you that you are able to discover your sins and be willing to repent:
     “Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God and having Jesus as my Lord. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”

2.  Through the Holy Spirit, examine yourself for a short silence and then pray:
     "Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sins to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Forgive my sins by your blood and help me follow you. Holy Spirit, fill me that I may be able to receive your gifts to love God and His people. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."

           "Heavenly Father, I pray that this day I may live in your presence and please you more and more.
             Lord Jesus, I pray that this day I may take up my cross and follow you.
             Holy Spirit, I pray that this day you will fill me with yourself and cause your fruit to ripen in my life: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control."

Key passage:

Listen to me, you islands;
    hear this, you distant nations:
Before I was born the Lord called me;
    from my mother’s womb he has spoken my name.
He made my mouth like a sharpened sword,
    in the shadow of his hand he hid me;
he made me into a polished arrow
    and concealed me in his quiver.
He said to me, “You are my servant,
    Israel, in whom I will display my splendor.”
But I said, “I have labored in vain;
    I have spent my strength for nothing at all.
Yet what is due me is in the Lord’s hand,
    and my reward is with my God.”

And now the Lord says—
    he who formed me in the womb to be his servant
to bring Jacob back to him
    and gather Israel to himself,
for I am[b] honored in the eyes of the Lord
    and my God has been my strength—
he says:
“It is too small a thing for you to be my servant
    to restore the tribes of Jacob
    and bring back those of Israel I have kept.
I will also make you a light for the Gentiles,
    that my salvation may reach to the ends of the earth.”

This is what the Lord says—
    the Redeemer and Holy One of Israel—
to him who was despised and abhorred by the nation,
    to the servant of rulers:
“Kings will see you and stand up,
    princes will see and bow down,
because of the Lord, who is faithful,
    the Holy One of Israel, who has chosen you.”

Isaiah 49:1-7
Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage we have just read. Offer this time to Jesus as you listen to Him.

The topic I received today from Jesus is:  Living a club life or a Kingdom life?

Chapters 49 to 57 are prophecies about the Servant of the Lord, who is pointing to Jesus Christ. His ministry brings forgiveness for sin and the opportunity of salvation, a personal relationship with God to people of all the nations. Christ also brings hope of restoration for Israel and the judgement on the ungodly.

This chapter contains the second servant song of Isaiah. The first one is in Isaiah 42: 1-4, the third is in Isaiah 50: 4-9 and the fourth is in Isaiah 52: 13 - 53:12. All four servants songs are about what the Messiah would be coming as God's servant. It is a kind of job description of what Jesus' job description looks like. Jesus always says, "Come, follow me!" So, it is also our job description.

Take a close look at this second servant song and compare that with you own life. What are those things that are lacking in your life?

He says:
"It is too small a thing for you to be m servant
to restore the tribes of Jacob
and bring back those of Israel I have kept.
I will also make you a light for the Gentiles,
that you may bring my salvation to the ends of the earth."    Isaiah 49:6

When all the Israelites were thinking of the only thing they needed from God is for the Messiah to restore their kingdom, God said that was only a small thing. The "big deal" is how we as God's people to bring His salvation to the whole earth.

Lots of Christians are thinking of how to sustain their people in the church or how to rebuild the church into a vibrant and lively church.
But, Jesus job description to all His disciples is that it is not enough.
God's Kingdom is far more bigger than a local church.
If we only focus on our local church then we are building a club.

One of the major difference between a church and a club is the willingness to spread the Gospel and the ability to bring in non-believers to become new Christians and to be able to nurture them to become Jesus disciples just like us.

Without that intention and action, we are just leading a club's life and not Kingdom life!

Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us not to live a club life but to offer ourselves to live a Kingdom life. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

Reflect on these questions:

1. What inspiration have you received from today's catch and what have you heard from Jesus now?

     2.  What is your next step to be more closer to Jesus, to be holy - that is to do what Jesus wants you to do and not to do what Jesus wants you not to do?
