1.  Pray for the Holy Spirit to shine on you that you are able to discover your sins and be willing to repent:

     “Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God and having Jesus as my Lord. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”

2.  Through the Holy Spirit, examine yourself for a short silence and then pray:

     "Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sins to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Forgive my sins by your blood and help me follow you. Holy Spirit, fill me that I may be able to receive your gifts to love God and His people. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."

    and to strip kings of their armor,
to open doors before him
    so that gates will not be shut:

    and cut through bars of iron.
3 I will give you hidden treasures,
    riches stored in secret places,
so that you may know that I am the Lord,
    the God of Israel, who summons you by name.

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage we have just read. Offer this time to Jesus as you listen to Him.

    

The topic I received today from Jesus is:  Out-of-the-box God!

Something very unusual happens in this chapter. Cyrus was not a worshiper of God but is called "his anointed," (vv. 1-5), the same title God gave to His Son, Jesus Christ. Why?

God is really an out-of-the-box God! How can you imagine He used King Cyrus to do His Kingdom work and gave Cyrus a "kingdom" name? Impossible!

God used Cyrus to set Israel free from captivity so that God could continues to use Israel to reveal his plan of salvation. King Cyrus, king of the Persian Empire (559-530 B.C.), captured Babylon in 539 B.C. and soon after that issued the decree permitting the Jews to return to their land, including Jerusalem as describes in Ezra 1.

God has His own way to do things and lots of time is out-of-the-box!

How can we follow God to do His out-of-the-box ministry?

Jesus leads me to think of all kinds of out-of-the-box possibilities to do His Kingdom ministry. We always label certain people and reject other people because we like to be a "judge" and love to judge other people.

How can this out-of-the-box miraculous act help you to join God's out-of-the-box team to extend His mighty Kingdom? 

Dear Lord Jesus,

Open our eyes to see how you do all kinds of out-of-the-box miraculous acts so that we can join you to follow your way to do your Kingdom ministry. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

Reflect on these questions:    

1. What inspiration have you received from today's catch and what have you heard from Jesus now?

     2.  What is your next step to be more closer to Jesus, to be holy - that is to do what Jesus wants you to do and not to do what Jesus wants you not to do?
