Silence

1.   Put on your “brakes” and stop for a moment of silence
      2.   Wait for God. Breathe deep for God's peace and feel His presence. Exhale your worries.

     Praise and Thanksgiving
1.   Think through your day, all the times that made you smile.
2.   Thank God for all those moments, and for all those people
3.          **Sing a song to praise the Lord

Confession and Repentance (Subjective Shifting Devotion Method)

1.  Pray for the Holy Spirit to shine on you that you are able to discover your sins and be willing to repent:
“Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God and having Jesus as my Lord. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”

2.  Through the Holy Spirit, examine yourself for a short silence and then pray:
"Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sins to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Forgive my sins by your blood and help me follow you. Holy Spirit, fill me that I may be able to receive your gifts to love God and His people. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."

"Heavenly Father, I pray that this day I may live in your presence and please you more and more.
Lord Jesus, I pray that this day I may take up my cross and follow you.
Holy Spirit, I pray that this day you will fill me with yourself and cause your fruit to ripen in my life: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control."

Key passage:

Woe to the land of whirring wings[f]
    along the rivers of Cush,[g]
which sends envoys by sea
in papyrus boats over the water.

Go, swift messengers,
to a people tall and smooth-skinned,
to a people feared far and wide,
an aggressive nation of strange speech,
whose land is divided by rivers.

All you people of the world,
you who live on the earth,
when a banner is raised on the mountains,
    you will see it,
and when a trumpet sounds,
    you will hear it.
This is what the Lord says to me:
“I will remain quiet and will look on from my dwelling place,
like shimmering heat in the sunshine,
like a cloud of dew in the heat of harvest.”
For, before the harvest, when the blossom is gone
and the flower becomes a ripening grape,
he will cut off the shoots with pruning knives,
and cut down and take away the spreading branches.
They will all be left to the mountain birds of prey
    and to the wild animals;
the birds will feed on them all summer,
    the wild animals all winter.

At that time gifts will be brought to the Lord Almighty

from a people tall and smooth-skinned,
from a people feared far and wide,
an aggressive nation of strange speech,
whose land is divided by rivers—

the gifts will be brought to Mount Zion, the place of the Name of the Lord Almighty.

Isaiah 18: 1-7

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage we have just read. Offer this time to Jesus as you listen to Him.

The topic I received today from Jesus is:  Not your way and time!

1. Wrong timing and alliance (Isaiah 18: 1-2)
Cush, ancient Ethiopia and modern Sudan, was south of Egypt. It ruled all of Egypt at that time. The king of Cush sent messengers to Israel to make an alliance against Assyria. Here, like the other chapters is about the prophecy of the downfall of other nations and to give the Israelites hope of their future if they returned to God.

2. God does thing in His own time (
 Isaiah 18: 3-6)
It was not human power that ultimately defeated the Assyrian power. It was in God's own time as describes from verses 3 to 6.

3. When God's time comes
 (Isaiah 18:7)
Following the Assyrian defeat, the people of Cush would bring gifts to Jerusalem.

Lots of time we are worried about things don't come our way or not happening in our own time. What I got from Jesus today is that it is always that things do not happen in our own way. We need to have that kind of trust to God's own timing and know more about His way of doing things. If He tells you, then you do it. If He doesn't tell you, then you need to be patient and trust Him solely.

Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to be more closer to you that we would not have all those unnecessary questions of asking the "why" but to wait for your "how" and just do it. And please teach us to be patient to wait for your time to come. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

Reflect on these questions:

1. What inspiration have you received from today's catch and what have you heard from Jesus now?

     2.  What is your next step to be more closer to Jesus, to be holy - that is to do what Jesus wants you to do and not to do what Jesus wants you not to do?
