Silence

1.   Put on your “brakes” and stop for a moment of silence
      2.   Wait for God. Breathe deep for God's peace and feel His presence. Exhale your worries.

     Praise and Thanksgiving
1.   Think through your day, all the times that made you smile.
2.   Thank God for all those moments, and for all those people
3.          **Sing a song to praise the Lord

Confession and Repentance (Subjective Shifting Devotion Method)

1.  Pray for the Holy Spirit to shine on you that you are able to discover your sins and be willing to repent:
“Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God and having Jesus as my Lord. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”

2.  Through the Holy Spirit, examine yourself for a short silence and then pray:
"Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sins to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Forgive my sins by your blood and help me follow you. Holy Spirit, fill me that I may be able to receive your gifts to love God and His people. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."

"Heavenly Father, I pray that this day I may live in your presence and please you more and more.
Lord Jesus, I pray that this day I may take up my cross and follow you.
Holy Spirit, I pray that this day you will fill me with yourself and cause your fruit to ripen in my life: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control."

Key passage:

This is what the Sovereign Lord, the Holy One of Israel, says:
"In repentance and rest is your salvation,
in quietness and trust is your strength,
but you would have none of it.
You said, 'No, we will flee on horses.'
Therefore you will flee!
You said, 'We will ride off on swift horses.'
Therefore your pursuers will be swift!
Isaiah 30: 15 - 16
Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage we have just read. Offer this time to Jesus as you listen to Him.

The topic I received today from Jesus is:  In repentance and rest is your salvation!

Isaiah 30 is a follow-up of the last chapter to give the Israelites direction and hope after Isaiah prophesied the fall of Jerusalem in various stages.

1. Their sins (vv. 1-14)
The situation is that Judah sought an alliance with Egypt to gain protection from Assyria. But in fact, they were rejecting God's counsel, refusing to believe his promises and throwing aside God's principles of holy living by following the Egyptian way of living and worship of idols. By their sins and ignoring the prophet's offensive messages they will "collapses suddenly in an instant."(v. 13)

2. The way out (vv. 15- 33)
The only way out is to repent and rest in His protection, guidance and salvation. In their returning to God, He will show His mercy and favor to His people by eliminating their enemies in God's own way. Isaiah prophesied when king Hezekiah led his nation to return to God and everything changed. Isaiah prophesied the sudden downfall of Assyria as described in Isaiah 36-37.

Isaiah 30: 15-16 is one of my best 10 golden verses in the Bible. The Lord used this message to give me numerous warning and encouragements.

In our life time there are so many times that similar situation happens leading us to find an easy way out but not God's way out. We rely on powerful people, better job, more profitable financial tactics and every possible way out but rarely having a total trust in God. I am saying it LOUDLY, "Rarely having a total trust in God!"

In repentance and rest is your salvation! Trust in Him totally before it's too late!

Dear Lord Jesus,
Help us to repent and rest in your salvation. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

Reflect on these questions:

1. What inspiration have you received from today's catch and what have you heard from Jesus now?

     2.  What is your next step to be more closer to Jesus, to be holy - that is to do what Jesus wants you to do and not to do what Jesus wants you not to do?
