1.  Pray for the Holy Spirit to shine on you that you are able to discover your sins and be willing to repent:

     “Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God and having Jesus as my Lord. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”

2.  Through the Holy Spirit, examine yourself for a short silence and then pray:

     "Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sins to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Forgive my sins by your blood and help me follow you. Holy Spirit, fill me that I may be able to receive your gifts to love God and His people. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."

23 Moreover, in those days I saw men of Judah who had married women from Ashdod, Ammon and Moab. 24 Half of their children spoke the language of Ashdod or the language of one of the other peoples, and did not know how to speak the language of Judah. 25 I rebuked them and called curses down on them. I beat some of the men and pulled out their hair. I made them take an oath in God’s name and said: “You are not to give your daughters in marriage to their sons, nor are you to take their daughters in marriage for your sons or for yourselves. 26 Was it not because of marriages like these that Solomon king of Israel sinned? Among the many nations there was no king like him. He was loved by his God, and God made him king over all Israel, but even he was led into sin by foreign women. 27 Must we hear now that you too are doing all this terrible wickedness and are being unfaithful to our God by marrying foreign women?”

28 One of the sons of Joiada son of Eliashib the high priest was son-in-law to Sanballat the Horonite. And I drove him away from me.

29 Remember them, my God, because they defiled the priestly office and the covenant of the priesthood and of the Levites.

30 So I purified the priests and the Levites of everything foreign, and assigned them duties, each to his own task. 31 I also made provision for contributions of wood at designated times, and for the firstfruits.

Nehemiah 13: 23-31

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage we have just read. Offer this time to Jesus as you listen to Him.    

The topic I received today from Jesus is: Are you being purified?

The last chapter of Nehemiah is full of the three Kingdom password "consecrating", "worshipping" and "offering". "Consecrated" and "purified" are the two most used words to describe how God's people came back to God. 

People put idols in their houses and they need to purify their house. Before they worhsipped the Lord they need to purified themselves just like we as Anglicans need to say confession and receive absolution before receiving the communion. 

The pain here in this chapter is their marrying foreign women and those people did that had to leave their wives and children!

Purified is not an easy job but a very important duty of our lives to be Christlikeness. Lots of time we do not know what and how to purify. 

Neil Cole's(author of Organic Church) Life Transformation Groups(LTG) card has a very good checking system weekly for those in that three people group. Let's examine our life with the questions in the LTG card and ask the blood of Jesus to purify us!

1. Have you been a testimony this week to the greatness of Jesus Christ with both your words and actions?

2. Have you been exposed to sexually alluring material or allowed your mind to entertain inappropriate sexual thoughts about another this week?

3. Have you lacked integrity in your financial dealings or coveted something that does not belong to you?

4. Have you been honoring, understanding and generous in your important relationships this week?

5. Have you damaged another person by your words, either behind their back or face to face?

6. Have you given in to an addictive behavior this past week?

7. Have you continued to remain angry toward another?

8. Have you secretly wished for another's misfortune?

9. Did you have your daily devotion and hear from God? What are you going to do about it?

10. Have you been completely honest to answer these questions?

Are you being purified yet?

Dear Lord Jesus,

Help me to be purified daily that I can faithfully worship you and offer my life to you. In Jesus Name I pray. Amen.

Reflect on these questions:    

1. What inspiration have you received from today's catch and what have you heard from Jesus now?

     2.  What is your next step to be more closer to Jesus, to be holy - that is to do what Jesus wants you to do and not to do what Jesus wants you not to do?
