Today's Time with Abba: Psalm 131:1-3; 1 Kings 8:1-66; Acts 7:51-8:13; Proverbs 17:1

Key passage:
5 and King Solomon and the entire assembly of Israel that had gathered about him were before the ark, sacrificing so many sheep and cattle that they could not be recorded or counted.
6 The priests then brought the ark of the Lord’s covenant to its place in the inner sanctuary of the temple, the Most Holy Place, and put it beneath the wings of the cherubim. 7 The cherubim spread their wings over the place of the ark and overshadowed the ark and its carrying poles. 8 These poles were so long that their ends could be seen from the Holy Place in front of the inner sanctuary, but not from outside the Holy Place; and they are still there today. 9 There was nothing in the ark except the two stone tablets that Moses had placed in it at Horeb, where the Lord made a covenant with the Israelites after they came out of Egypt.
10 When the priests withdrew from the Holy Place, the cloud filled the temple of the Lord. 11 And the priests could not perform their service because of the cloud, for the glory of the Lord filled his temple. 1 Kings 8:5-11
Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage we have just read. Offer this time to Jesus as you listen to Him.
The topic I received today from Jesus is: To worship God and God only!
!! Yesterday we talked about how come King Solomon used 7 years to build God's temple but 13 years to build his own palace. Why he put "me" first and God second?
But, in today's 1 Kings 8 we see another picture. Solomon honoured God in a very powerful and special way. The offerings Solomon offered and all the Israelites offered were too many that those sheep and cattle could not be recorded or counted! Wow! That's the leadership of Solomon to lead his people to put God first! And, we can see how God showed forth His glory with the cloud filled His temple, representing how God accepted their offerings!
Then, Jesus asked me to replace the word "the ark" to "their favorite MALL" and read it:
All people gather before their favourite MALL, sacrificing so many "sheep" and "cattle" that they could not be recorded or counted.
This is the reality of this world lorded by Consumerism, a reality in this materialistic society that if some people pull out their VISA statement and count how much they bought last month and compare with how much they offered to the Lord, the MALL might be the real place people have been worshiping and people offering "so many sheep and cattle that we could not be recorded or counted!"
Reflect on these questions:
1. What inspiration have you received from today's catch and what have you heard from Jesus now?
2. What is your next step to be more closer to Jesus, to be holy - that is to do what Jesus wants you to do and not to do what Jesus wants you not to do?
