1.  Pray for the Holy Spirit to shine on you that you are able to discover your sins and be willing to repent:

     “Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God and having Jesus as my Lord. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”

2.  Through the Holy Spirit, examine yourself for a short silence and then pray:

     "Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sins to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Forgive my sins by your blood and help me follow you. Holy Spirit, fill me that I may be able to receive your gifts to love God and His people. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."

Key passage: 

Now the king of Aram was at war with Israel. After conferring with his officers, he said, “I will set up my camp in such and such a place.”

9 The man of God sent word to the king of Israel: “Beware of passing that place, because the Arameans are going down there.” 10 So the king of Israel checked on the place indicated by the man of God. Time and again Elisha warned the king, so that he was on his guard in such places.

11 This enraged the king of Aram. He summoned his officers and demanded of them, “Tell me! Which of us is on the side of the king of Israel?”

12 “None of us, my lord the king,” said one of his officers, “but Elisha, the prophet who is in Israel, tells the king of Israel the very words you speak in your bedroom.”

13 “Go, find out where he is,” the king ordered, “so I can send men and capture him.” The report came back: “He is in Dothan.” 14 Then he sent horses and chariots and a strong force there. They went by night and surrounded the city.

15 When the servant of the man of God got up and went out early the next morning, an army with horses and chariots had surrounded the city. “Oh no, my lord! What shall we do?” the servant asked.

16 “Don’t be afraid,” the prophet answered. “Those who are with us are more than those who are with them.”

17 And Elisha prayed, “Open his eyes, Lord, so that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the servant’s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.                      2 Kings 6: 8-17

       Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage we have just read. Offer this time to Jesus as you listen to Him.    

The topic I received today from Jesus is: Show them the Chariots of Fire!

      Today the Lord told me the same thing as He told Elisha:

       "Why are you afraid? Those who are with you are more than those who are with the dark forces. Have you not seen those chariots of fire?" 

      Lots of time I was discouraged, frightened and distressed by those unexpected darkness pouring down on me. Arguments, confusion, crisis, discontent, weakness, anger ... all sorts of darkness came when I was most unprepared. Every time when it was over, I told myself, "Next time I should be better prepared." Well, praise the Lord that I have become more and more prepared for those spiritual tsunamis.

Here in this chapter, Elisha showed his servant the gifts and power of a prophet several times. I wonder how many of us know that we also are called and empowered to show our students the gifts and power of being God's servant and those chariots of fire surrounding us. Count the blessings of how many times those chariots of fire protected you, even though you have never seen them and are not aware that they exist!

The photo on top of this blog was taken in 2015 in Toronto with Archbishop Yong Ping Chung, my spiritual father. This photo is so precious that I have been reminded so many times to focus my eyes on Jesus and not those lions but to be able to see the chariots of fire God sends to protect me!

Open our eyes to see those chariots of fire! Help us to show them the chariots of fire!

Dear Lord Jesus,

Thank you for your chariots of fire. Help me to show more people the chariots of fire! In Jesus name I pray . Amen.

     2.  What is your next step to be more closer to Jesus, to be holy - that is to do what Jesus wants you to do and not to do what Jesus wants you not to do?
