Silence

1.   Put on your “brakes” and stop for a moment of silence
      2.   Wait for God. Breathe deep for God's peace and feel His presence. Exhale your worries.

     Praise and Thanksgiving
1.   Think through your day, all the times that made you smile.
2.   Thank God for all those moments, and for all those people
3.          **Sing a song to praise the Lord

Confession and Repentance (Subjective Shifting Devotion Method)

1.  Pray for the Holy Spirit to shine on you that you are able to discover your sins and be willing to repent:
“Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God and having Jesus as my Lord. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”

2.  Through the Holy Spirit, examine yourself for a short silence and then pray:
"Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sins to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Forgive my sins by your blood and help me follow you. Holy Spirit, fill me that I may be able to receive your gifts to love God and His people. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."

"Heavenly Father, I pray that this day I may live in your presence and please you more and more.
Lord Jesus, I pray that this day I may take up my cross and follow you.
Holy Spirit, I pray that this day you will fill me with yourself and cause your fruit to ripen in my life: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control."

Key passage:

“Therefore the Lord, the God of Israel, declares: ‘I promised that members of your family would minister before me forever.’ But now the Lord declares: ‘Far be it from me! Those who honor me I will honor, but those who despise me will be disdained. 31 The time is coming when I will cut short your strength and the strength of your priestly house, so that no one in it will reach old age, 32 and you will see distress in my dwelling. Although good will be done to Israel, no one in your family line will ever reach old age. 33 Every one of you that I do not cut off from serving at my altar I will spare only to destroy your sight and sap your strength, and all your descendants will die in the prime of life.

34 “‘And what happens to your two sons, Hophni and Phinehas, will be a sign to you—they will both die on the same day. 35 I will raise up for myself a faithful priest, who will do according to what is in my heart and mind. I will firmly establish his priestly house, and they will minister before my anointed one always.          1 Samuel 2: 30-35

Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage we have just read. Offer this time to Jesus as you listen to Him.

The topic I received today from Jesus isThose who honour me I will honour!

How sad it is that we as human being always forget how God blessed us but to insist on our own way. Today's passage in 1 Samuel 4, we see how sad it was that the priest Eli and his two sons displeased God.

1 Samuel 2:30 "Those who honor me I will honor" is the message God used through the 1982 movie "Chariots of Fire" to call me to become a priest. The scene of how Eric Leddell spoke in his heart when he was running the 400 meters winning the Gold medal for England in the 1924 Olympic Games:

"When I run, I feel the pleasure of God!"

As I was struggling severely with my ego and did not want to let go of a good career in the Hong Kong Government as a Music Officer I watched the movie five times in a few weeks time. Each time God used the same two scenes to speak to me. The first one being the American sprinter gave a small note to Eric before he ran the 400 meters final. The note says, "As the Bible says: Those who honor me I will honor." And then when Eric ran, the theme song with Eric's whispering sound, "When I run, I feel God's pleasure!"

I never turn back since then and God keeps His promise to me. I have been running for Him the past 43 years and I feel His pleasure. And when I honor Him He honors me in a very special way, and He honour my whole family! Please take a look at my family photos, one in 2009, two last years and some I took the past two days in Hong Kong.
Thank you Lord Jesus!

It is so difficult to be a faithful  priest doing according to what is in God's heart and mind. But when you do that you will know how God firmly establish your family so that you can minister before our Lord Jesus Christ to be anointed so as to minister to His people.

You need to take action today to be a "Listen and Obey" disciple of Jesus and not tomorrow!

Dear Lord Jesus,
Thank you for reminding me of so many sweet memories of the fruits and power for honorning You the past 43 years. Lead me and my family to serve and honour you all the times of our lives. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

Reflect on these questions:

1. What inspiration have you received from today's catch and what have you heard from Jesus now?

    2.  What is your next step to be more closer to Jesus, to be holy - that is to do what Jesus wants you to do and not to do what Jesus wants you not to do?
