1.  Pray for the Holy Spirit to shine on you that you are able to discover your sins and be willing to repent:

     “Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God and having Jesus as my Lord. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”

2.  Through the Holy Spirit, examine yourself for a short silence and then pray:

     "Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sins to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Forgive my sins by your blood and help me follow you. Holy Spirit, fill me that I may be able to receive your gifts to love God and His people. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."

             Lord Jesus, I pray that this day I may take up my cross and follow you.

Key passage: 

     "How the mighty have fallen! The weapons of war have perished!"      2 Samuel 1: 27

       Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passage we have just read. Offer this time to Jesus as you listen to Him.    

     The topic I received today from Jesus is: How the mighty have fallen?

!     Jesus gave me two very important messages:

       1. How the mighty Saul had fallen?

           Before we think about why the mighty Saul had fallen, we need to know how did Saul become the mighty?  The answer is because he was chosen by God and he walked with God.

     So, why the mighty Saul had fallen? Because he chose to be away from God.

2. Be merciful to those who harm you!

Jesus says, "Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy." Matthew 5: 7

How could David still have mercy and honor Saul and his family after how Saul wanted to kill him many times giving him many painful experiences?  

Because David was after God's heart and he was one of the merciful. 

Can you do that? The answer is NO! 

You can't in your own strength, because it is beyond our limitations as human beings. Only if you ask God to help you and to experience "Emmanuel", then you have a chance to be the merciful! That is the essence of the Beatitude (Matthew 5: 1 - 10). 

"Repent, for the Kingdom is near!" 

Only if we repent and return back to His Kingdom, then we can be one of the mighty and merciful!

Only if we fall down before God, then we will not fall down because of the Deceiver, the Separator and the Destroyer! 

Dear Lord Jesus,

Help me to be more closer to you so that I can be one of the mighty and merciful. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

Reflect on these questions:    

1. What inspiration have you received from today's catch and what have you heard from Jesus now?

    2.  What is your next step to be more closer to Jesus, to be holy - that is to do what Jesus wants you to do and not to do what Jesus wants you not to do?
