Silence

1.   Put on your “brakes” and stop for a moment of silence

      2.   Wait for God. Breathe deep for God's peace and feel His presence. Exhale your worries.

1.   Think through your day, all the times that made you smile.

     Confession and Repentance (Subjective Shifting Devotion Method)

1.  Pray for the Holy Spirit to shine on you that you are able to discover your sins and be willing to repent:

     “Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God and having Jesus as my Lord. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”

2.  Through the Holy Spirit, examine yourself for a short silence and then pray:

     "Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sins to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Forgive my sins by your blood and help me follow you. Holy Spirit, fill me that I may be able to receive your gifts to love God and His people. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."

Key passages: 

     In those days Israel had no king; everyone did as he saw fit.       Judges 17: 6

They answered him, "Be quiet! Don't say a word. Come with us, and be our father and priest. Isn't it better that you serve a tribe and clan in Israel as priest rather than just one man's household?"        Judges 18: 19

       Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passages we have just read. Offer this time to Jesus as you listen to Him.    

     The topic I received today from Jesus is: Everyone did as he saw fit!

      Chapter 17 tells us that in those time everyone did as he saw fit! How sad!

      Chapter 18 shows more examples on how everyone did as he saw fit!

How sad it is that a priest was being controlled by greed and followed money, power and fame rather than God's will. How sad it is when people lost God and brought in idols to replace God.

How sad it is when everyone does as he sees fit!

Everyone lost their relationship with God. They had no leader to follow! 

What Micah did in Chapter 18 was awful: 

He stole his mother's money, made an idol, had a shrine, made an ephod and some other idols and installed one of his sons as his priest and then hired a Levite and made him a priest! 

All these kind of things were sins according to the law of Moses. 

Micah did not know that this was wrong but he did as he saw fit because they did not have a king or a judge to lead them.

Do you have a leader, a coach or a priest to help you, guide you and raise you up? 

Do you have someone you can listen to and follow? 

Or, are you one of those people who do things as they see fit? 

You need to pray for God's help that you can be connected to a "chains of command" so that you would not be leave alone and do things as you see fit.

Dear Lord Jesus,

Lead me, guide me so that I can follow you and obey your command. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

Reflect on these questions:     

1. What inspiration have you received from today's catch and what have you heard from Jesus now?

    2.  What is your next step to be more closer to Jesus, to be holy - that is to do what Jesus wants you to do and not to do what Jesus wants you not to do?
