1.  Pray for the Holy Spirit to shine on you that you are able to discover your sins and be willing to repent:

     “Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God and having Jesus as my Lord. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”

2.  Through the Holy Spirit, examine yourself for a short silence and then pray:

     "Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sins to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Forgive my sins by your blood and help me follow you. Holy Spirit, fill me that I may be able to receive your gifts to love God and His people. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."

The Lord said to Joshua, "Set an ambush behind the city."      Joshua 8: 2

       Let's have a time to be still and give the Holy Spirit space to speak through the passages we have just read. Offer this time to Jesus as you listen to Him.    

     The topic I received today from Jesus is: Sure win or sure lose?

      Do you want to have a sure lose life? Very easy, just do the thing God wants you not to do and that's it.

Yes, if we do not "destroy whatever among us is devoted to destruction", the Lord will not be with us and we'll be having a "Sure Lose" life! How sad!

Do you want to have a sure win life?

Here in Chapter 8, we see clearly God has His tailor-made plan for a sure win warfare, a true spiritual warfare. God did not command Joshua to set an ambush behind the city when he attacked the city of Jericho. He did not ask Joshua to hold out toward Jericho the javelin that was in Joshua's hand. So if Joshua followed the same strategy he attacked Jericho, he was doomed to fail. 

We learn a very clear plan of God for everyone, every church:

1. To be holy

2. To listen and obey

Without holiness we cannot get to point 2 for we do not have the relationship with God to listen and not even talks about obey.  It is always our Christlikeness so that we can be listen and obey to God's tailor-made plan that His Kingdom be extended.

Dear Lord Jesus,

Help us to destroy whatever is devoted to destruction and that we can be holy and be able to listen and obey to your tailor-made strategy. In Jesus name I pray. 

Reflect on these questions:     

1. What inspiration have you received from today's catch and what have you heard from Jesus now?

    2.  What is your next step to be more closer to Jesus, to be holy - that is to do what Jesus wants you to do and not to do what Jesus wants you not to do?
