"I am God, the God of your father," he said. "Do not be afraid to go down to Egypt, for I will make you into a great nation there. I will go down to Egypt with you and I will surely bring you back again. And Joseph's own hand will close your eyes."   Genesis 46: 3-4

"But when I rest with my fathers, carry me out of Egypt and bury me where they are buried." "I will do as you say," he said. "Swear to me," he said. Then Joseph swore to him, and Israel worshiped as he leaned on the top of his staff.           Genesis 47:29-31

The topic I received today from Jesus is:  Only God knows your heart!

Yes, God told me today that only He knows my heart. It is such a wonderful passage to show how God knew Jacob's heart and gave him assurance before he pulled out everyone and everything he got to go to Egypt. What I received from God's saying to Jacob should be the hidden questions in his heart:

1. I am quite frightened! What would happen to me when I go to Egypt?

2. Will God be there with me?

3. Will I have a chance to come back?

4. Am I really going to see my son Joseph?

And God said, "Do not be afraid to go down to Egypt, for I will make you into a great nation there. I will go down to Egypt with you and I will surely bring you back again. And Joseph's own hand will close your eyes." Genesis 46: 3-4

Do you have something you are worrying and don't want to make your first step?

May God's confirmation to Jacob give you some hints of what you need to do.

Then in Genesis  47, we understand how blessed is to have an obedient son!

Joseph brought his father back to a relationship with God Jacob had before but forgot. Joseph saved his whole family for his close relationship with God and how he passed all those tests and temptations. And, Joseph obeyed what Jacob told him to do when he died without a question. Even he was then the lord of Pharaoh's entire household and ruler of all Egypt he obeyed his father by just, "Yes Sir!" An obedient son can bring many blessings!

      Dear Lord Jesus,

Thank you for your daily presence! Help me to be sure that only you know my heart and satisfy all my needs for you are my Shepherd. Help us to be good sons and daughters and to be able to raise up good sons and daughters for you. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

Reflect on these questions:

1. What inspiration have you received from today's catch and what have you heard from Jesus now?

    2.  What is your next step to be more closer to Jesus, to be holy - that is to do what Jesus wants you to do and not to do what Jesus wants you not to do?

        Silence
1.   Put on your “brakes” and stop for a moment of silence
      2.   Wait for God. Breathe deep for God's peace and feel His presence. Exhale your worries.

     Praise and Thanksgiving
1.   Think through your day, all the times that made you smile
2.   Thank God for all those moments, and for all those people
3.   Sing a song to praise the Lord

Confession and Repentance (Subjective Shifting Devotion Method)

1.  Pray for the Holy Spirit to shine on you that you are able to discover your sins and be willing to repent:

“Dear Holy Spirit, shine your light into the places of darkness in my life. Show me my sins, everything that blocks me from encountering God and having Jesus as my Lord. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”

2.  Through the Holy Spirit, examine yourself for a short silence and then pray:

"Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for our sins and being victorious over death and sin. I confess my sins to you(pause, to tell Jesus what the Holy Spirit has shown you). Forgive my sins by your blood and help me follow you. Holy Spirit, fill me that I may be able to receive your gifts to love God and His people. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen."

"Heavenly Father, I pray that this day I may live in your presence and please you more and more.

Lord Jesus, I pray that this day I may take up my cross and follow you.

Holy Spirit, I pray that this day you will fill me with yourself and cause your fruit to ripen in my life: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control."
